At SAVE, Inc., we are striving to be a model of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) for all nonprofits in Kansas City. To that end, SAVE, Inc. has taken specific steps toward this initiative.

In January 2021, all staff and many board members were part of a three-session training led by Kansas City change management firm Sophic Solutions. This training included topics around the discussion about race, including a historical analysis, definition & language and operationalizing equity. The final session included an open forum for staff to offer suggestions and analysis of current DEIB practices.

In addition, SAVE, Inc. has formed a task force consisting of staff members and board members to move forward with implementing more diverse, inclusive and equitable policies and practices. This task force meets on a regular basis to create a culture at SAVE, Inc. that celebrates everyone who works with us and those we serve.
