Residential Care Staff – PRN
SAVE Inc. is seeking a PRN staff member to work in our STAIR program as a Residential Care Staff. Typically PRN shifts are evenings and weekends. The hours for the STAIR program is staffed between 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or equivalent preferred. Experience can be substituted for a degree. Good judgment and observation skills. Knowledge of serious mental illness, substance abuse and other chronic health conditions. Demonstrated ability to work with residents and their support systems to provide support in accomplished treatment plan goals. Successful completion of educational programs and trainings that enhance the skills and abilities of the Resident Care Staff in relation to activities of SAVE Programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as proficient computer skills are also required The candidate must write and speak English, be proficient with computer use, specifically Word. This position must be able to complete and write interventions according to state regulations.
Life Skill Worker
Job Requirements: Responsible for providing direct supervision to youth clients to ensure physical safety and program implementation in a youth overnight shelter program. Youth being defined as 18-24 years of age. Previous experience delivering services to disadvantaged populations or homeless youth is favorable. We are seeking reliable Life Skills Workers with a positive attitude, strong interpersonal boundaries, and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of youth.
Position Summary: The Life Skills Worker implements the vision and mission of SAVE INC. as it pertains to the youth shelter component of the SAVE INC organization. Responsibilities include active supervision and a supportive presence at the youth shelter. Staff will assist youth in completing daily living skills including laundry, hygiene, implementing routines, as well as prepare meals and provide general household structure for youth. Staff will also provide mentorship in interpersonal conflict, maintain a safe environment and provide on-site support and positive reinforcement to youth during their time at the overnight shelter. These individuals will not carry an actual caseload, rather they support all youth presenting at the overnight shelter.
Job Description: SAVE Inc. a non-profit is seeking a full-time janitor/custodian to help in our mission to provide comprehensive housing solutions to empower socially and medically disadvantaged people to improve their health and lead stable lives with personal dignity.
Responsibilities Include: Perform cleaning duties on all vacant units to prepare them for rental (make-readys); Perform preventative and routine floor maintenance and cleaning for all properties; Perform mowing, trimming, weeding, shoveling as scheduled on all properties; Thoroughly clean administrative spaces and public spaces in residential facilities on a weekly basis, including replenishing appropriate cleaning and paper supplies; Ensure property exteriors are clean and free of debris; Assist with unit and property inspections as directed by Facilities Manager Assists with workflow and assignments as directed by Facilities Manager; Promote positive communication between staff and residents; Attend meetings as required; Attend suggested maintenance training as directed by Facilities Manager; Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Physical Requirements: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED plus 1-3 years of related experience. Experience with professional floor-cleaning equipment preferred. This position is responsible for interior cleaning of all properties (including VCT flooring); daily exterior trash pick-up; weekly trash removal; and general day-to-day upkeep of the physical sites owned by SAVE, Inc. Experience working with impoverished and disabled individuals is preferred. Good oral and written communication skills are important. The candidate must write and speak English, have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, be able to walk up and down stairs, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 pounds.
SAVE Inc. is currently looking to fill a HOUSING SPECIALIST position. This position works closely with other agencies, landlords and our voucher clients. This is a full time position with full benefits. The salary range for Housing Specialist is $32,000 – $34,000 annually. Following is the job requirements and responsibilities: Job Requirements: A minimum of a Bachelor’s with preference given to those with a Social Work degree or related field. The Housing Specialist shall implement the policies and procedures of SAVE Inc.’s. Permanent Housing Voucher Program contracts including all aspects of enrolling and maintaining clients on the program. This person will have thorough knowledge of all policies regarding rent calculations, inspections, lease-ups and the recertification process. They will be responsible for the day to day operational needs, monthly payments, billing, tracking, monitoring and filing systems in order to complete monthly, quarterly and annual reports. They will also be primarily responsible for meeting and greeting the public when they arrive at the SAVE, Inc. TBRA office. The ability to prioritize tasks and work independently, with excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as proficient computer skills, specifically Word and Excel are required. The candidate must write and speak English. The responsibilities for this position include the following:
- Coordinate all aspects of the various rental assistance programs funded primarily through our contracts
- Be able to conduct all aspects of rental assistance programs including referrals, inspections, monthly payments, maintenance of client files to meet regulations, and appeals
- Responsible for file maintenance in accordance with the established practice of SAVE Inc. our funding partners
- Perform Housing Quality Standards (HQS) Inspection and re-inspections as needed
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and/or annual monitoring, billing and tracking of program participants
- Assist Landlords in understanding the enrollment and rental payment process
- Responsible for updating and implementing changes in program requirements and agency policies, procedures and forms as needed
- Attend local organizational, informational and professional meetings as assigned
- Advocate on behalf of clients and educate regarding fair housing options
- Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with other SAVE, Inc. staff and counterparts in federal, state and city organizations and other community based entities
- Support the operational needs of the agency
- Other duties as assigned
Responsibilities: Assists with workflow and assignments as directed by Facilities Manager; Responsible for preventative, routine and emergency work orders as directed by Facilities Manager; Perform maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. Perform tile work, electrical, plumbing, painting, minor carpentry; Perform preventative and routine floor repairs and maintenance for all properties; Be on call 24 hours a day (on a rotating basis) via cell phone; Perform mowing, trimming, weeding as scheduled on all properties; Assist in making apartments ready for rental; Perform preventative maintenance and landscaping of building exteriors; Promote positive communication between staff and residents; Assist with snow removal, as required; Attend meetings as required; Attend suggested maintenance training as directed by Facilities Manager; Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: A minimum of a high school diploma or GED and 5 years experience in related field. Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle. Proficiency in carpentry, flooring, machine serving, plastering and make-readies preferred. This position is responsible for performing HVAC maintenance, service repairs, and resident work orders; the daily upkeep of the lawn and exterior maintenance of all properties; and general day-to-day maintenance of the physical sites owned by SAVE Inc. as instructed by the Facilities Manager. Good oral and written communication skills are important. The candidate must write and speak English, be able to walk up and down stairs, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 pounds.
